International FAQs
How do you mail things to countries other than the USA and how long does it take? Because my jewelry is made of sterling silver and/or gold, both which are considered "precious metals," packages must be sent via Global Priority Mail with Insurance. To see if Global Priority is available in your country, please look at their Country Listing. (If there is an * in the second to right column, it is available.) If it's not available, I will mail it via Registered USPS Parcel Post.
How long will the jewelry take to get to me? Once I make the jewelry (see regular FAQs regarding the jewelry timetable) and take it to the US Post Office, Global Priority takes about 4-6 days to get to most countries.
Can I track international packages online? Sorry, but international packages via the USPS cannot be tracked online. This is because each country uses a different tracking system, so once it leaves the United States, the Postal Service in your country takes over and delivers it to you.
Do you pack the box differently for International orders? The inside of the content remains the same: you'll have all the jewelry sent to you in janetjewelry.com giftboxes, the packing slip and receipt of your order, janetjewelry postcards, and a thank you card from me! Only the outside packaging will be different due to the different packaging the USPS has for Global Priority. If it is sent via USPS Parcel Post, I will send it in a brown envelope or box.
What about taxes? You will not be charged any US Sales Tax. However, once the package is mailed out, you are responsible for any taxes (if applicable) that your country's Customs may make you pay.
Can I send you a check, or do you only take Credit Card orders for International customers? For International Orders, I ONLY ACCEPT CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS! This is because all the items on my website are calculated in US$, and when you send a check from other countries, it pays me in whatever currency you write your check in, which leaves me with a currency exchange problem. To avoid this, I only accept Credit Card orders online.
Do you treat backorders the same way as you do for regular domestic USA orders? Sorry, we must send out your entire order in one package, unless you'd like to pay for the S&H twice. Due to the high cost of sending packages via USPS Global Priority with Insurance, we cannot treat your backordered items the same way that we do our domestic USA orders. If there is a backordered item in your order, we will contact you with options, and you will have a choice as to how to proceed with your order.
What is the S&H for International Orders? We send ALL our international orders via USPS Global Priority Mail, and the cost depends on the subtotal of your purchase:
Orders up to $50 = $20.95;
up to $100 = $22.95;
up to $150 = $24.95;
up to $200 = $26.95;
$200 & up = $28.95
