Dylan Kiye Garret Masamitsu!
Merv & I just had a baby girl on Feb 10, 2006, and I must've had one of the fastest, easiest deliveries.... Checked into Lennox Hill Hospital in Manhattan at around 7:30am, and Dylan was born by 12:44pm! Hello Dylan!
We knew we were having a girl, but we didn't have a name yet--she came 10 days early...

She weighed 7 lbs, 1 oz, and was 19.5" long.

Going Home Outfit
Of course, I had a pink outfit for her, but Merv wanted to dress her up to match his outfit....

Everyone tells me that she looks just like him....

Cutie Baby!
Before Dylan was born, my niece, Alisa, then 5, suggested "Cutie Baby" as Dylan's name.

My parents!
My mom's flight to Newark was diverted to Cleveland, OH due to the blizzard, so she arrived on the 13th.

My dad was in FL for a conference, so he flew in at the same time.

Dylan & Big Kitty
Hepburn, aka "Big Kitty," weighs about 3 times Dylan's weight.

Butterscotch, aka "Little Kitty," has been in hiding since Dylan came home.... On week 2, she finally came out, but wants nothing to do with the baby....

Diaper Master
Merv's become quite the expert in diaper changing.

Speedy & efficient, he is very proud of himself regarding this newly acquired skill.

Dylan's first Bath!
She still had her umbilical cord, so we had to sponge bath her.

We didn't have any space in the bathroom, so we had to do it in the kitchen....

Needless to say, she hated every minute of it....

Dylan's Papasan Swing
She looks so little in this thing, a gift from the staff at Cargo Magazine!

I think it's the cutest baby swing on the market, and she seems to really like it.

Doesn't she look comfy?

Getting dressed for the cold....
It's been in the 20s & 30s so far, so we've had to dress her appropriately; she seems to prefer having just onesies on....

The Stroller Blanket
This fleece, furry-lined stroller blanket is the best!

It keeps her really warm, so she doesn't have to have a ton of clothing on!

Doesn't she look super tiny in it?

A "REAL" bath!
Since her umbilical cord came off, we were finally able to give her a real bath!

She LOVED it!

"Just a onesie, please!"
Dylan doesn't seem to be a big fan of wearing bulky outerwear.

Mini Merv
She has my eyes, but the rest seems to be all Merv....

Dolls from Great Grandma in Japan
Dylan was born in the Year of the Dog, so my grandma sent me these traditional dog dolls (inu hariko) from Japan.

They're good luck talisman to protect children from bad spirits.

Dylan's first apple pie!
Obviously, Dylan can't eat pies yet, so this is the first pie that I made in her presence, in her honor!
