Cliffnotes on Janet (and other things you can definitely live without!)
Addendum, 7/9/03

My first 2 music concerts:
Journey & Huey Lewis & the News

Most memorable movie from my childhood: "9 to 5"

Haagen-Dazs Flavor of the Month:
Vanilla Raspberry Swirl (Vanilla Frozen Yogurt & Raspberry Sorbet--it's only 15% fat!)

The one "Reality" TV show I'm looking forward to watching:
"Queer Eye for the Straight Guy." This goes back to my other page about Merv's wedding outfit. The rule was, if I couldn't go with him to pick something out, he should find the most fabulous gay man in the store and ask for his help.

Favorite Household Chore: Vacuuming

Number of Garden Gnomes on our balcony: 3

What's on my nightstand: Godzilla lamp, a CD clock-radio, jewelry holder, and an empty vase

What CD is most likely in that clock radio for wake up time: classic Eurasure. It's so happy! You can't go wrong....

Best Roller Coaster: The Hulk, at Universal Islands of Adventure

Favorite Lipstick: since people ask me all the time, I love Aveda's "Sheer Camellia"

Ideal jewely making time: late night, anytime after 10pm

Why: it's quiet, no one's at the store, the post office run's been done for the day, and I feel the most relaxed

What's my "Diet Lunch": Low fat turkey sandwich. 2 slices wheat bread, 3 thin slices of lowfat turkey, and lettuce, tomato, cucumber, alfalfa, carrots, with mustard for a kick.

Luke Wilson or Owen Wilson: Owen

Martin Sheen or Charlie Sheen: Martin Sheen

Ashton Kutcher or Bruce Willis: Ashton, hands down!

Batman or Superman: The Dark Knight, Batman

Spiderman or Aquaman: Spiderman if I need transportation, Aquaman if I want to go shopping

Pierce Brosnan as Remington Steel or 007: Super hard call, but I have to go with 007.

Wayne or Garth: Garth, shwing!

Quotes on my 3 fridge magnets: "Do One Thing Every Day that Scares You," by Eleanor Roosevelt; "The Jouney of a thousand miles begins with one step," by Lao Tzu; "Dare to be Remarkable," Jane Gentry

Oil Painting or Acrylics: Oils, no contest! Acrylics dry too fast for me.

How many signed (to me or Merv) things do we have in the living room: 6

Who signed stuff for Merv: Britney Spears (BW 8x10 signed "Merv, Foxy"), J Spaceman (Spiritualized--signed CD cover), Ian Brown (signed poster), POD (all band members signed a POD skateboard), Chris Bachalo (signed page of "Generation Next")

What's signed to Janet: I won(!) a super cool Danny Clinch platinum print of the Beastie Boys at his book release party (I love his work!), and Merv and I went to talk to him afterwards (Merv's used his Radiohead photo on a cover for CMJ), and he signed it over to me. He's super nice! Unrelated and not signed to me, but I have a signed Trent Reznor NIN poster from his Prague tour, too.

Janet's most prized signed piece: Merv got me a 8x10 color photo of Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman, signed "To Janet Much Love, Lynda Carter."

***All the above signed stuff were free--we got them all as gifts, or Merv worked with the artist.

What we collect seriously: Signed cartoon art. We go to an art auction every year that benefits AMIC (Association for Mentally Ill Children). I donate jewelry, and we come home with something really cool by another artist, and money was generated for the benefit! A win-win situation for all!

My first art auction buy: Signed Art Spiegelman poster from "The Wild Party" by Joseph March, which is one of my favorite books.

Other signed works: "Breakfast with the Bradleys" by Peter Bagge, we have several Jack Davis pieces, a really cool Terry Gilliam piece, and Limited Edition signed lithograph of South Park.

A not-signed piece in our livingroom that I think is cool: a velvet Elvis piece--it's got this tiki frame, he has the lei on from the Hawaii concert, and he has a tear coming down his face--which I hear makes the piece more valuable! I got it at an antique store in Boston for $20!

What videogame system do we have in the livingroom: Atari 2600

More coming soon....
