Favorite Holiday: New Years! The only time of the year when I feel like I can have a fresh, new start!

Champagnes--Louis Roederer 1989 Cristal or Pol Roger 1986 Vintage Brut: Pol Roger. Cristal's got the bling-bling name recognition with the price tag to match, but I'm not a huge fan of its foam-iness. For flavor, taste, and quality for the $$$, I'd definitely go for the Pol Roger.

2 Places I MUST visit within the next 2 years: Manchu Pichu & Angor Wat

The only TV show I record everyday & watch at my leisure when I get home: "Hawaii Five-O" reruns! It's a lot smarter and more stylish than I remember it being.... Merv and I are fans of the diabolical Wo Fat.--2003--I just found out they're NOT playing this show anymore on cable! Is it available on DVD yet?

Number of pounds I've gained this holiday season: 7 lbs! Bleh!

What I'm reading now: Just finished Nick Hornby's How to Be Good, and am almost done with Paco Underhill's Why We Buy: the Science of Shopping, which is really a fascinating book! I also read David Sedaris' Me Talk Pretty One Day, on my Amtrak ride to and from Vermont over New Years, and it was SO FUNNY, I was in tears laughing!

Pies or Cakes: pies, preferably apple! Ala mode (Haagen Dazs Vanilla), a bonus!

Over-the-counter cold medicine of choice: I've tried a lot of stuff, and I always come back to Nyquil....

Favorite thing to do in Vegas: see a movie--how many losers go to Vegas to see a movie? ONE, me. The place was completely empty!

Number of various "MTV Real World" shows my husband, Merv's been in: 2. He was in the "Real World Miami," because his roommate, Sarah, was on the show, and he'll be in "Real World Las Vegas" in 2 episodes in January 2003--he's art directing a shoot with the cast members. He didn't sleep with any of them (he claims), so I'm not sure he'll actually get any airtime...If you see an Asian girl with bright pink hair in the background, that would be moi!

Favorite Muppet: Miss Piggy

Best Dressed Flight Attendants: Alitalia

Most Edible Airline Food: Japan Airlines

Beef or Chicken: Beef at good restaurants, Chicken on airplanes

Best response from a flight attendant when I asked, "I'm sorry--what kind of chicken and what kind of beef?": "What kind of chicken? What kind of beef? You're in economy, honey, there's ONLY one kind."

Best Invention EVER: "Remedy Renue," a CPAP breathing device. My husband snores severly, and this thing is my dream come true (literally!). It's like a reverse vacuum--it pumps air into a hose that's attached to this oxygen mask-type thing. He sounds like Darth Vader, but that's 110% better than the snoring.

Bruce Lee or Jet Li: Bruce Lee, hands down!

Captain James T. Kirk, Captain Jean Luc Picard or Captain Kathryn Janeway: hard call, and I know I'll get a lot of feedback emails for saying this, but for many complicated reasons (beyond this website), I like them in this order: (1) Capt. Janeway, (2) Capt. Picard, (3) Capt Kirk

Luke Skywalker or Han Solo: no contest--Han Solo!

Jello or Pudding: Jello

Aragorn or Legolas: Legolas!

Chocolate or Caramel: chocolate, preferably dark. Preferably Verona! Preferably with a nice glass of fine cognac....

Favorite Cognac: A. de Fussigny Special Reserve Cognac, Cigare Blend. It's really mild; smooth taste and soft finish.

Catfight--Trinity or Laura Croft: super hard call....but I'd put my money on Trinity

Trinity or James Bond/Jinx: after seeing this last Bond film, I'd pay good money to see Trinity kick both their butts....

"Starsky & Hutch" or "Simon & Simon": Starsky & Hutch

"Dynasty" or "Dallas": Dynasty

The worst sound in the world, EVER: Sad Mac
